| 'In the end it isn't the writer who decides whether or
not his or her work is relevant. Instead it is the reader. Reading and writing unlike film or theatre must be done alone. It is a private affair. Books must travel from reader to reader to stay alive. The stories are in the dark. Inspiration comes in flashes. It is a dark road and I cannot always see ahead. Poets know this too. They also travel the dark roads. My writing goes on in my head until finally it spills out in words'.
